Four Simple Steps (OK, there are actually 5):
1. CREATE A PERSONAL ONLINE ACCOUNT
Visit our website and fill in ALL your information – SIGN UP in the (Members Area)
2. IF YOU ARE THE CAPTAIN, FILL OUT A TEAM ENTRY
If you are the CAPTAIN of your team, then ‘create’ your team, enter details of your team, car, theme, etc and then INVITE the other members of your team (drivers and crew).
3. IF YOU HAVE BEEN INVITED, or YOU WANT TO JOIN A TEAM (DRIVER/CREW)
Either “accept” your email invitation (this usually comes from your team CAPTAIN) or log into the site (you must register first – see STEP 1 above) then accept the invitation. Be sure to use the exact email address that you first registered with.
4. PAY THE ENTRY FEE FOR YOUR CAR, ALL DRIVERS AND CREW
Once you are logged into the website, you should be able to see your team. Make sure you PAY using the details on the members’ payment portal.
We love a good laugh, so if you bugger up the registration process completely, CALL US and we can step you through it. We’ll start with “have you plugged your computer into the POWER socket….”? Call Matt on (021) 895 470 or Jacob on (021) 476 683 for guaranteed ridicule!
Will My Team Get Accepted?
Entries into Lemons events are on a “First in first served” basis! To ensure that your entry is secured, you must pay at least your CAR entry fee and ONE DRIVER fee, otherwise your grid position could be made available to the next pack of wolves, or a yuppie in a Skoda! If you find yourself the unwitting perpetrator of unpunctual payments, then a damn good red wine, a Ming vase or a date with a super-model may all be considered to bribe us…
Compliance / Licensing
All drivers are required to have the following: 1) a valid New Zealand (or appropriate internationally recognised) civil driver’s license, and 2) a RACE LICENCE – this must AASA Club licence available here www.aasa.com.au/licences/club-racing-licence-application/ – there are 2 types: a) 12 month Licence @ AUD$75 or b) weekend race Licence @ AUD$40
Understand that driving your car on the roads gives you a false sense of driving skills and you think you are Peter Brock… Ha… wrong! Realise that one hour in a bucket of bolts that struggles to go forward, stop well, or even go around corners, is damn hard work!! We reckon an average driver can handle about 1 hour of this, after which they start making mistakes due to fatigue. We suggest you have a driver change and refuel once every hour – give your next team driver a go, while you enjoy a nice cuppa tea, a lamington and a chat about Christ! Then you can also bore the crap out of everyone around you with your delusional stories of your driving prowess…
